Justification of the work: We need to perform a maintenance work to eliminate a risk to service availability due to an optical power degradation being monitored on a network device located in Hunslet Road, Leeds. During the work, our engineers in conjunction with vendor support teams will clean and replace the patches under the supervision of our NOC team, and investigate the street Fiber, In case the power levels are still not satisfactory, an OTDR test will be run by the Fiber team to find any micro bends or breaks and fix them to resolve the matter. The maintenance should be completed during the first 7 hours of the maintenance, but an 8-hour window is quoted to cover all eventualities.
Back-out plan: 60 minutes of the maintenance window is reserved to revert any changes done should we experience any unforeseen issues during the works. The mentioned outage duration is a best estimation for the work at hand, but should you ascertain that you are experiencing any prolonged connection issues exceeding this during the works,
