Justification of the work: Vendor needs to exit node in London, where some of equipment is housed. We require the following work to route and reconfigure circuits onto a different route within our network, in order for services not to pass via the site. The work should be completed during the first 8 hours, but a 9 hour window has been quoted to cover all eventualities.
Back-out plan: 60 minutes are reserved to reconfigure any circuit, should we experience any issues during the works. The mentioned outage duration is a best estimation for the work at hand, but should you ascertain that you are experiencing any prolonged connection issues exceeding this during the works, please contact our technical service desk to investigate the matter

Purpose of Maintenance:
The network device your service terminates on requires a software upgrade to resolve software bugs and maintain ongoing vendor support. This software version upgrade requires the device to be fully wiped and a new image to be downloaded and installed. The process can take up to 3 hours. Pre-implementation checks are conducted prior to commencing the maintenance. The remaining maintenance window is utilised for post-checks and rollback if required.
Please expect the maintenance and impact to commence within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time. Vendor will only delay the start time due to unexpected circumstances that may affect successfully upgrading the device.
Impacted Service(s): Up to 3 hours of downtime during the 4-hour maintenance window

Justification of the work:
Dear Partners, Vendor's Network monitoring team is observing an optical degradation on a long distance network link between Manchester and Leeds which could become service affecting if not attended. During this work, our engineers will clean and replace the patches, and check the street fibre under supervision of Vendor's NOC. This will be followed by an OTDR test to ensure no micro bends or breaks are present. The maintenance should be completed during the first 7 hours of the maintenance, but an 8 hour window is quoted to cover all eventualities.
