Summary: As part of on-going maintenance, Engineering will be performing infrastructure patching in our Cloud and Secure Cloud environments.

Customer Impact: Virtual machines will be unobtrusively migrated between hosts during this maintenance window and virtual machine configuration operations will be intermittently unavailable via the Secure Cloud Console for the duration of the maintenance. Customers leveraging our iland Secure DRaaS products will see intermittent site disconnects during the maintenance window. There should not be any impact on running or protected virtual machines during this maintenance.

Customer Action: There is no action required. All services will resume as normal at the end of the maintenance window.

Justification of the work: We need to perform maintenance on our network for optimization purposes of our long distance network in the United Kingdom.

We do not expect any outage to customer services as the work is taking place on dead fibres, but as work will take place next to live fibres, we are making customers aware of this work. In the event of a live fibre being disturbed, it could result in a short hit of no longer than 20 minutes but this is not expected. During this work, local fibre team will work in close proximity to live fibres in chambers near Welwyn Garden City. The maintenance should be completed within the announced 4 hour window. No outage is expected during the work,

Scheduled - Justification of the work: We will be conducting a maintenance on our VOICE platform to perform a software upgrade on a Voice Router VR1.BHX located at Colt’s node in Birmingham. This change will only affect Voice service over Colt’s Birmingham Voice Gateway. Trunks with redundancy over other Colt Gateways should not see an outage. working in conjunction with our vendor to have the software version built and tested and it’s now published on our definitive media library ready for release. During the maintenance window, engineers will execute a comprehensively tested method of procedure with the objective to remotely upgrade the device to the latest vendor recommended software release. During the first 30 minutes of the work, our engineers will move the active session onto a secondary router, VR2.BHX, which should result in an outage of up to 5 minutes. Once the device has been upgraded, and the new code is in effected, the active session will be restored to the primary router, VR1.BHX, again resulting in an outage of up to 5 minutes. All actions should be completed within the first 4 hours of the maintenance window, but we do quote an 5 hour window to cover all eventualities.

Back out plan: Our engineers reserve 60 minutes of the maintenance window to roll the upgrade back to the current release should any unforeseen difficulties occur during the work. The mentioned outage duration is a best estimation for the work at hand, but should you ascertain that you are experiencing any prolonged connection issues exceeding this during the works.

An incident is underway and the issue has been reported to our IaaS partner who is actively investigating
